A Hilarious Multitasking Mishap Leads to New Friends at Poison Control Hotline

So…fun story (in hindsight…). The other night, in a dazzling display of multitasking while operating on pure exhaustion, I accidentally took my cat’s medication. 😳 Yep. I DID THAT.

Here’s the kicker: two of Boo Boo’s meds are for blood pressure—perfect for him, but not so great for me. I’m already on two blood pressure meds myself (for off-label uses—they actually make my already low blood pressure even lower). So naturally, as soon as I felt dizzy and suddenly too “out of it” to manage my bedtime routine, I had to make the very awkward call to poison control. Why? Because, apparently, meow. 🐾🙈

Good news? I’m fine! Obviously. My blood pressure took a scenic detour to low-town, leaving me with a migraine as a parting gift. 🎁 But hey, all’s well that ends well. I lived to tell the tale—and learned a valuable lesson: never multitask with meds while running on fumes.

How did this happen, you ask? Oh, it was a series of unfortunate, bunny-trailed events. I had Boo’s meds, the pill popper, and a Fussy Cat puree pouch all ready to go, just as my elusive feline prince disappeared. Naturally, I went upstairs (carrying it all with me) to find him. No Boo Boo in sight, but since it was late and I was running on fumes, I decided to multitask. I grabbed my own nightly meds to save myself a trip.

“Right hand = cat’s meds, left hand = my meds. Got it, Jen?” I thought I had it. Oh, but I didn’t have it. Mid-mission, I got completely sidetracked in my own mind by a eureka moment for my Etsy store, solving a problem I’d been battling for years. For a fleeting second, I felt so smart. Then…POP! “Wait…why are there still pills in my hand? I thought I just took them.” POP!

OH CRAP. WHAT DID I JUST DO?! 🤦‍♀️

Hey, at least I didn’t eat the Fussy Cat. 😂🐾

Moral of the story? MEOW.
